Drop the mic!

“I’m a EU Portuguese voice talent, in Lisbon, Portugal. I’m definitely not a German translator!”, mentions the title. I found this out when I tried to adapt my English blog posts to German, with a little help from an online translator.

According to the automatic translation, sometimes I was presented as a woman. It would be funny to see new clients’ reactions once they heard my deep voice…

Besides that, it seems that, one day, instead of recording a voice-over “late at night” I did it both at daytime and during the night. My dear online translator, I’m not a machine… I can’t do an ultra-fast 2.000 words’ VO during a sunset.

It also seems that the chocolate that makes me salivate has piri-piri. Did a Swiss chocolatier ever tried to do this? Don’t!

Furthermore, I found it curious that the translator thinks that “lending my voice to companies” is the same thing as “shouting to the clients”! I WOULD NEVER DO THIS!

Well, a few days after posting the automatic translation’s posts I had the good sense to turn to a human proofreader and corrected the errors in the German version of this blog.

Hopefully nobody thought I scold the microphone. Grrr!
